 Competition Licenses & Event Permits

The WCMA governs driver licensing in Alberta, Saskatchewan & Manitoba for Amateur Roadracing, Solo, Ice Racing, and Vintage (Historic). Karting & Professional race licenses are issued by ASN Canada FIA directly.

The following types of licenses and permits are issued by the WCMA and ASN Canada:

Basic:
The Basic license covers Solo competition and Ice Racing.

Solo:

The Solo license is applicable only to Solo competition.
Amateur/Historic:
This is the minimum license required for road-racing. This license will enable you to race at tracks across Canada at an amateur level. WCMA accepts other ASN Territory licenses, SCCA, IMSA and Grand Am licenses. Other forms of license may be accepted - please contact Wayne Schellekens, Race Director prior to entering the event.
ASN Professional/FIA C & Up:
ASN Canada FIA sanctioned series require a Professional license, issued by ASN Canada FIA Inc. Drivers of Canadian nationality competing in FIA sanctioned events, such as Paul Tracy, Alex Tagliani, and Jacques Villenueve, must have their licenses issued by ASN Canada FIA. For information on ASN Canada & FIA Licenses, please contact ASN Canada FIA
Event Organizing Permit:
If you're organizing a Race under WCMA rules, you must apply to the WCMA for an Event Organizing Permit. Completed Permit Applications should be submitted to WCMA's Race Director.
