Can anyone confirm if there will be lappers for any of the race weekends? Thank you.

We will have lapping, Blair, but the schedule is far from designed, so the format for lapping is not established yet.

Registration is open on the NASCC website, and the track is up and will be ready to race after a few small adjustments.

I would really like to know the extent of the "small" changes being made.

also is there a set of supplementry regulations made yet?

lots of  talk of no room for paddock,  where is the paddock?  no room for service( tow) vehicles, trailers. walls being moved or not? parking on mud not really  acceptable.
corner curbing? is the track even approved by FIA yet?
how many cars on track at one time?   overnite security for race cars and equipment parked?
heard that racers pay for damage to track, if you break a concrete wall? Is this true?

there is probably many more questions. where do we find answers?

Gary

Hey Gary,
I hope it will reassure you and the rest of our racing colleagues, we are working on answers to all these questions you have raised.  There have been minor hiccups that have slowed progress, but progress is ongoing.  By we I mean the collection of NASCC, ARCA and WCMA club leaders and volunteers that have organized racing at Race City, CFB Edmonton and City Centre Airport for many years.
Things will be different at Castrol compared to Race City and CFB Edmonton.  For instance, sand and pavement chunks won't ruin your car and put your life at risk.  But we will have to compete with the drag strip's domination of Castrol Raceway in our early going.
The final draft of the Supp Regs is bouncing around WCMA officials just now and will be out very soon.  The same is true of the race schedule.  We are awaiting an answer from CMA as per cars on track, we estimate it will be between 16 and 20 as a maximum.  Closed wheel will be divided into two run groups, separated to equalize the size and speed within  the two groups.
Track changes involve repositioning the concrete barriers as per the instructions of Gary Leadbetter to Castrol on behalf of WCMA.   Gary was responsible for recommending and approving changes at Race City as it slowly decayed, and kept the site viable for WCMA and ARCA. Gary will be in charge of approval of the site as a temporary facility, just as Race City was approved in its later years.  ASN Canada will not grant final approval until the full course is finished, and has instead authorized Gary to approve on behalf of WCMA as a temporary facility.   The changes underway have the approval of Gary and of the Clerk of the course as well, Andy de Boon.
The paddock at Castrol will be crowded, but not more crowded than the Eurasia Cup at the Edmonton Indy, and the paddock design is being managed by the team that managed our Edmonton Indy paddock space, which was very workable.  We are working hard to keep everyone off the dirt, since it will be too soft to consider being on to begin with.
At all facilities we race at within the WCMA region, now and in the past, racers are potentially responsible for damage to the track site.  That said, the clubs have borne the costs in  recent history, such as at City Centre last year, though this decision is subject to the specifics of an incident.
I hope this helps, write nascc.events@gmail.com with questions. Not knowing what other answers you are looking for, I can't say more, but do write explicitly.
Jed Harrison, President, NASCC
