Title: fire extinguisher recharge
Post by: oldpony on February 12, 2009, 11:32:29 AM
I need to get my Firebottle fire system recharged with whatever is supposed to replace Halon.

The fire extinguisher shops in Edmonton are clueless, and none of the drag and oval track race shops have been able to help either.

Any ideas?

That odd to hear. You can get F2000, Halotron as the replacement.

Or Change over to C02/water based like - FireCharger (that's what I am using).

Try near the airport.  Airplanes still use Halon, you need to find out who is servicing them and maybe they can recharge yours.

Bri. (1 Halon system - 2 cars).

Halon is a banned substance for general applications. :(  That along with certain Freons are considered a atmospheric no-no.  Ozone protection and all that.
The chances of someone recharging a Halon system are slim to none under pain of severe fines.
Use a substitute as was suggested.
