Title: RANDOM IDEA.
Post by: gary on September 30, 2010, 10:25:18 AM
One of the current issues is that timing and scoring can not handle more classes. but there needs to be a better way to sort the ITGT cars.
how about this;
delete the GT 4 and 5 classes( we hardly see these cars but we still need this class) and call it GTlite. just like scca. this frees up one class.
delete the ITGT class. this frees up another class.  dont panic, keep reading.
bring back the 3 Modified production classes( or something like it) to sort out the  current ITGT cars.
in effect then we will only have one more class than we had before.
can timing and scoring be able to handle this?

Calgary and Edmonton can - I'm not sure about Winnipeg.

I like that idea Gary. In conference I run GT3 and SPU (sport production unlimited) only difference is DOT tires vs slicks.

Our fields are so small relative to the number of groups. Maybe add the modified IT group (like SPU, SPM etc) and allow the small number of GT cars back into those classes if they run DOTs?

Only other issue in my mind continues to be the different prep levels of cars (safety) on track at the same time. (fuel cells, clips etc)
