Check out Francois Youtube channel ... Road Racing in 1989. Where did all these cars go? ... and where did all these spectators come from?

Notice how many track workers there are also...... and sponsorship. I was there and remember those days fondly.
Rudy

Cool to see Jeff or Lance driving my car...so sad it seems to have broke on lap 3 or 4 :(
Anthony
It was so clean and new in '89....track was smooth, and it didn't look like anybody was using the curbs in the chicane...
So many people watching '98 race and the short track kept them all bunched up.......
what happened to it all?
Smooth track - gone!
Spectators - gone!
Sponsors - gone!
Sports racers competing with tin tops - gone! (Not that I have an opinion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Yes there were the GT weekend videos....But the 1998 video is the year before I started and I don't remember allot of those cars.
The Blue Corrolla...Was that the infamous Mr. Lohues?
Have a great New Years!!!
Those were nice videos, and it's amazing how good Race City looked back then. I hope somebody is taking videos of our recent races so in 10 years we can look back at the good races that once took place here in Calgary.
no that was not my blue corolla. mine was the older white one with a primer grey air dam. seen at 3:07 on the 1998 video.
anyone notice, or remember how tight the chicane was on the 89 video. still remember the next year that they changed that, cut 5 or more seconds off everyones time.
Gary
You can see the patch where they cut about four feet from the chicane if you stand out there. This was long track too just a lot of cars. The short track "indy return road" was only added a few years later. Great video...
