Hey all, I'm new here and am hoping to get some help from other racers. I recently bought an '06 Mustang that has been a NASA CMC2 car that I intend to run as an ST-O car here. I need to put a fuel cell in to comply with WCMA regs and part of the rule reads that bracing is required to protect the fuel cell in the event of a rear end collision. I'm hoping some people could show me pictures of a typical way to do this bracing. Also I want to add window clips and was also hoping to see some pictures of how others have done theirs.

I'd suggest you hit the Calgary Sports Car Club forum (http://cscc.speedracer.ca/forums/index.php?action=forum). More road race people frequent it than this one (many of the same people are on both, so your advice should still be as good as any you'll find on the 'net).
I'm not familiar with the sedan rules, so will be of no help to you there.

Is your fuel tank located behind the axle in your newer mustang??? my web search says no, it looks like it is ahead of the differential in between the frame rails. FUEL Cell not required for ST class.
If you want to put one in your welcome to. When installing your fuel cell i recommend you reference the GT guidelines and SCCA installation guidelines and manufacturer of cell guidelines.
My opinion on fuel cell installation is always leave enough room for crush in case of collision (from any angle) make sure the cell is adequately braced so the cell will not move in the event of a collision/rollover.
Fuel Cells/Tanks: The use of a fuel cell is required unless the stock fuel tank is located between the axle centerlines and within the main chassis structure (i.e. frame rails, etc.). When fuel cells are added their capacity shall not be any greater than the original production fuel tank plus (+) 10%. Additional straps and/or protection may be required. All fuel cells MUST comply with GT Fuel Cell Specifications. Proper bracing to protect the fuel cell in the event of a rear-end crash is required. If a fuel cell is installed in the rear hatch/rear trunk area, the OEM floorpan in that area may be replaced with metal in order to make it easier to mount the fuel cell and close out the area around the fuel cell. There must be a metal bulkhead completely separating the Fast, Fun & Fair Motorsports 32 2011 WCMA Technical Regulations - Race cockpit from the compartment containing the fuel cell. This does not negate the requirement that the fuel cell bladder be contained in a metal container.
Window tabs are also not required in ST but recommended.
To install what works best in a "nutsert". Then the tabs can be removed when the window needs to be replaced.
All vehicles must use a stock,OEM equivalent, safety glass windshield, mounted in the stock location, at the stock angle and maintaining the stock profile. Using stock installation methods/adhesives and moldings (i.e., urethane). If not installed in this method window clips are mandatory,
9.Windshield clips, Windshield Clips/Rear Window Straps, as per GT regulation are permitted and recommended. Required if window not installed using OEM installation method and materials.

Thanks for the replies. I don't know how I missed the first sentence about fuel tanks between the axle centerlines. Great news for me as it basically means my car is ready to go racing.
