Hello. I am a new forum member and looking at racing in the future. Just wondering what class of racing I will fit into or what I have to do to my car to fit into a class.

My car is a 1973 Pontiac Trans Am with a 468 stroked motor. I have stock type suspension (leaf spring) and added rear disk brakes. I do not really want to add a roll bar or a safety electrical disconnect switch. Is there any racing (besides autoX)  that I can with this car? I have heard about Vintage class and they run that class in Calgary and BC but is there not enough interest in EDM? Where can I find the rules for vintage racing?

I may add a roll bar and safety disconnect switch if I have to just trying to learn and decipher (find) the rules.

Thanks

Welcome!  I'll let some others chime in with the vintage details, but have you looked into lapping and Time Attack?  Those typically don't require additional rollover protection (except convertibles).

As Chris mentioned, Lapping, Time Attack and autoslalom are the only activites that do not require a roll cage.

Vintage classes require a roll cage.  The Vintage rules are being finalized and should be posted in the next month.
