Congrats to Docspeed #46!! (...and other interesting tid-bits!)

A big congratulations to Team DocSpeed (Brian Lee) at the 16 hour ChumpCar Enduro in Spokane this last weekend!  2nd overall after 16 gruelling hours (8am to midnight) on Spokane's roller coaster of a road course.  Yahoooo!  No one was going to catch the crazy-fast, race winning Datsun roadster but Brian and his team (Gary. Mike, Jenn, Orrin and Harry) kept them honest and finished a solid 2nd, well ahead of 3rd place - WAY TO GO ALBERTA guys and gal!

There were at least 6 teams from Alberta out of 24 entrants, not a bad showing from the WCMA region!

Also, we all wish Ken Staples a speedy recovery after his shunt and wild ride thru the tullies in the pitch dark .  Don't make him laugh, - it hurts his ribs too much!!     Hahaha!  (Dont worry, not too serious.)

Next events in Alberta are Edmonton Indy (July 20-22) followed a week later (July 28-29) by a WCMA race weekend at the CFB Namao airstrips!

And don't forget the potential test & tune at CFB Namao on Saturday May 26, but they need confirmed entrants!!  Go to the NASCC's website for more info on registration!

While we are at it, spread the word about the possible race licensing school on the same day!  Again, NASCC needs some confirmed registrations to make it work.  Get your friends, spouses, co-workers, cousins, neighbors, mother-in-law, garbage man and anyone else who will listen the info so they can come play with us!

The 2012 race season is upon us and there is, and will be racing out there folks.  We may have to work a little harder to make it happen and get to it, but it will happen!

Many irons are in the fire regarding future racing possibilities in both Calgary and Edmonton so the future is not as bleak as we may think!  Keep those cars tuned and make the effort to get to the events that we can, the opportunity to play at different facilities is upon us!
