Hey everybody - the June 20-21 race event at CFB Namao is short of entries - so short the event could be cancelled.

Right now NASCC have 2 open wheel, 2 vintage and 18 closed wheel entries.  NASCC needs a minimum of 40 entries in order to break even or else they lose money putting on the event.

With this event, you MUST pre-register due to the access requirements.  The access form is at http://www.karelo.com/enter_res.php?&BID=402#Ev7767

If you want to pay by cheque or cash - notify Jed Harrison at Jed.Harrison@ualberta.ca that you will be coming and registering at the track BUT don't forget to fill out the access form or else you won't get on the base.

If you want to pay by credit card - do so immediately by going to the Karelo site http://www.karelo.com/enter_res.php?&BID=402#Ev7767 BUT don't forget to fill out the access form or else you won't get on the base.

For more information on the event, please contact Jed Harrison at Jed.Harrison@ualberta.ca.

Sue,

Could you please forward this email to the WCMA race mailing list.

Thanks
Jed Harrison
NASCC, Race Director

Registration for the NASCC CFB Edmonton lapping and races on June 20 and 21 at the old Namao airstrip is open. This event will feature Racin' the Runways, which is a two day event, with a WCMA points race on Sunday (and possibly one on Saturday as well), and all the heats contributing to the ARCA Championship, organized jointly with ARCA. We will run WCMA classes in Closed Wheel and Open Wheel, along with Vintage sessions.

We will also have 4 Lapping sessions of about an hour each, on a track twice the size of what we can usually use at Namao. Lapping will run concurrently with the racing, but requires a separate registration. To lap, convertibles must have factory or after market roll over protection. Lappers must have a helmet.

Registration and credit card payment is through the Karelo website, which can be accessed through the NASCC site, news section, or directly from here to Karelo. All the supplemental regulations, directions, etc, are available for download on the NASCC site, under the CFB Edmonton Race 2009 menu item.

Due to security you must also complete the access form, in order to get onto the airfield at the base.

Sue, can you pass this message along please on behalf of NASCC!

Racin' the Runways is still open for registration, with a deadline of Wednesday, June 17 at 11 pm.  (Open Wheel and Vintage registrations are lagging.)

*** WE NEED YOUR ENTRIES ASAP!

We hope to see you all out there!
We've got what looks to be a wonderful weekend of racing ahead of us with the forecast showing clear skies and 24 degrees on Saturday and Sunday! The NASCC needs your help to ensure we have a full field this weekend, current registrations aren't where we'd like to see them so if you intend on attending please be sure to get your entries or intent to enter in as soon as possible!

Don't miss this chance to beat your competitors in the WCMA points race!

Hey,

In case nobody noticed, this may be our last year racing, so why isn't everyone jumping in their cars for as much as we can get???

Please note as well that the reason we have two Edmonton races this year is to allow the NASCC folks to get in some extra experience, as we may run there 4 or 5 times next year.

Good time to get used to the track....

Sue

Sue

Thank you for signing up for NASCC's Racin' the Runways, June 20 and 21.  We wish to than Jo's Concrete for generous sponsorship of the event.  We have about 35 race registrations and 20 lapping registration.

We of the NASCC look forward to seeing you there, and thank you for your support and interest in motorsports in Alberta!

Important Saturday morning event schedule:

7:30    on Saturday morning Gates open
8:00    Registration opens
8:15    Track workers meeting
8:30    Lapping Session Drivers Mandatory meeting
8:45    First Sports Car Lapping session on track
9:15    Race Drivers Mandatory meeting
9:45    Closed Wheel practice

The NASCC website published schedule after these events will be partially modified, the registration for Open Wheel and VIntage classes is low, so we will be combining those two run groups.  This will cause some changes in the race schedule and we are still working out the details.  First on-track times, and track closing times will not change, as shown above, and we will keep a session cycle that does not put racers out again too quickly after their last race.  First times out on track each day will not change from the schedule that was posted on the NASCC site some weeks ago either.  (Lapping sessions may be interspersed with race sessions, instead of just first thing in the morning and at lunch.)

Important Sunday morning event schedule:
7:30    on Sunday morning Gates open
7:45    Lapping Session Drivers Mandatory meeting
8:00    Registration opens
8:00    First Sports Car Lapping session on track
8:30    Race Drivers Mandatory meeting
9:00    Vintage/ Open Wheel practice
The NASCC website published schedule after these events will be partially modified.

(You will get this message several times if you signed up on the access list multiple times.  This message is only going to those who signed up, because we have your email addresses.  You will have to relay it to your guests, as we have no contact information for them.)
