CKRC Presents the movie SENNA!! Thursday July 21st at the Globe Theatre, Calgary

Hi Motorsports Fans!

I am helping the Calgary Kart Racing Club (CKRC) with this fundraising event and would appreciate it if you can pass along the details to your club memberships & fellow racing fans (Doug-Exotic Club, Sue-ARCA, Tim-CMRA, Gary/Gary-BMW Northern and Southern Clubs, Miles-Porsche Clubs, Brad-BGPR Schools, Fred-CKRC, Jay-AMRA, etc.). The movie is spectacular, and the only limiting factor here is getting the message out to those racing fans; I'm sure most would be very interested in attending!

The Motorsports community is buzzing about the new movie SENNA, and it's coming to Calgary in July for ONE NIGHT ONLY! 2 MONTHS before the official Canadian release, the Calgary Kart Racing Club (CKRC) is hosting an advance screening of the movie SENNA as part of a fundraising event on Thursday July 21, 2011 at the Globe cinema. The 2011 Sundance Film Festival award winning movie tells the story of the life and career of racing driver Ayrton Senna. Senna is widely considered to be one of, if not the, greatest F1 driver ever.

Making this special evening a truly unique event, join fellow racing fans as one of Canada's only Formula 1 drivers, local Calgary racer Allen Berg, talks about his personal experiences racing, and standing on the podium, with Senna! In addition you will be able to enter to win some fantastic prizes; including Edmonton Indy Tickets, a ride at Race City Speedway in the current production car lap record holder, a Dodge Viper ACR! Plus many other great prizes, including some big surprises, to be announced! Prize draws and interview start at 6pm, the movie starts at 7:15pm.

Event proceeds are in aid of Calgary Kart Racing Club, where Allen Berg started his racing career. The club is a non-profit organization focused on providing Alberta residents with affordable yet competitive kart racing in the community for both individuals and families to enjoy. You can find out more about CKRC and kart racing at the event. Opportunities will be available to win CKRC Try a Kart certificates so that you can get in the racing seat and try this fun sport! We all know the situation with Race City, but most may not be aware that the CKRC track is under the same City of Calgary lease, and this amateur racing facilities future is just as uncertain. It's a great event, for a great cause!

And if you're interested in seeing possibly the next great racing talent, the Western Canadian Championships Series is being held the following weekend at the CKRC track. Come out and see some great wheel to wheel racing!
