Does anyone know where / who / how we book a track day for 2009? Also does anyone know if there will be scheduled weekday open track test days? I have heard a rumor!
Thanks in advance,

Respectfully,

Hey,

I will look into it this week. I have already been discussing the possible race dates for next year. Everything is up in the air, and a lot depends on the City, as well as the condition of the track surface.

I will need at least one track day myself to test the new improved (and probably not yellow)#10 CC car...RX 7 - a prescription for speed

Hi Brooke,

I know there are not a lot of options but if it is available do you think we could book a Friday test day (maybe in evening) on the friday prior to race weekends? We could charge extra for it but I think it would be well subscribed and may help to attract out of towners.

I agree with Anthony except how about make it day and evening! That would accomodate most all schedules. I guess it really does not matter at this point as the track may not be available in 2009 for a myriad of reasons.

Friday evenings are out because of the Secret Street Drag program which I expect will continue.

Another point ... I always like to limit the number of cars on a test day, as we don't have all of the normal safety features in place. Too many cars, and it gets a little dangerous.

It could be first come first served or we could have 2 run groups. Most other race weekends and venues provide practices on the Friday before a race weekend and in speaking with other racers abroad this was a recurring apprehension they had of trekking all the way to Calgary and not having an oppourtunity to test and tune prior to Saturday AM.

Just a thought.

I have been to tracks that have had those practice days before a race weekend, and they have always been "official"  sessions, sanctioned by the race organizer.

If this is a big enough issue, it should be presented at the ARCA general meeting to see if ARCA is willing to take this on.

As a private racer who occasionally organizes a test day, I would not be willing to take on a practice day of this scope, particularly with people unfamiliar with the track....again, the safety issue.

Sorry Brooke...

" I have already been discussing the possible race dates for next year"

This lead me to beleive you were speaking about this in an official capacity. Agreed this would need to be part of an ARCA weekend.
