QuoteMorning Session

1) Doug Campbell reports on National AutoSlalom & SoloSprint

Autoslalom
•Two solo sport national championships – AutoSlalom, SoloSprint
•Quebec national – 2 days, 4-6 runs each day, plus t&t day prior
•Ran CASC ruleset with CDN PAX values.
•Toyo Tire sponsorship with ASN
National committee has agreed to SCCA classes, car prep rules, and PAX for 2011; Sent recommendation to ASN for approval
•ASN discussion re: Allowing Karts - would mean increased insurance premiums for all solo clubs and events – not approved

SoloSprint
•No national solosprint Championship Event in 2010 – no clubs wanted to host
•Discussion about format and operation of Solosprint racing vs Time Attack vs Lapping

Nat committee will be having discussion about rules for passengers in various types of events (Autoslalom & Solosprint)

2) Group Discussion re: volunteer and organizational requirements for hosting a national event

3) Doug took input from representatives of various clubs.

4) Agreement that 12 yrs seems a reasonable minimum age for passengers. That is the current regulation for Solosprint.

5) Doug reiterated ASN Rollbar requirement in convertibles for lapping / solosprint.

6) Other Discussions:

2010 Snell helmets coming out soon, 2000 still good for 2011 (Solosprint current & prev, autoslalom current & 2 prev)

Ian G: comment about old rules on WCMA website.
If ASN approves changes to SCCA rules, it will be simpler update WCMA rules to point to ASN

Ian G: question about JDM imports – not covered in SCCA rules. Clubs can decide to put them in SP or Mod. ASN discussion about how to class JDM for national competition.

Afternoon Session

1) Clayton M notes that only 4 Regional events were held and so only 13 people qualified for regional points.

SK change to a single day event made for more travel for WPG
WPG cancellation due to loss of venue.

Chris S suggests to have a single Regional Championship event that moves from one venue to another each year. Group discussion about this option.

Clayton asks how do we make regional competition more appealing?

Suggestion to call the series "Western Canadian Tour".

Doug suggests recommendation to the clubs that all Regional events should be two days to make travel worthwhile, even if there's only one regional points day.

Suggestion to take the regional issue to each club for input on single event vs series championship.

2) Edmonton booking issues – suggestion from John to co-ordinate 3 clubs booking.

3) Suggestion to create a WCMA representative for each club

4) Reijo notes SSIS conflicts with ProSolo finale in USA

5) Doug notes only one club (Regina) has paid Regional AutoSlalom levy fees into WCMA.

6) Recommendation to continue to put Non NA market in SP and handle outliers on a case by case basis. No change from what is being done now.

7) Suggestion from Clayton to introduce Open PAX as a Regional class. ASA experience w/ OPAX class was very successful.

8 ) Suggestion from Doug to create a Regional Novice PAX class or Award.

9) Chris notes that having a Rookie/Novice coordinator worked well in WPG. Have this person conduct a novice course walk and explain rules and penalties.
